Beat a Z06 friday night

New postby Spots » Wed Jul 21, 2010 1:25 am

I went down to race legal, and beat a Z06 who couldn't get the car off the line worth a shit. I love it when fast cars sleep at the light  First race in the video, you can hear the announcer say "Walked all over that corvette, doing a burnout all the way up the track"

Nice! What's that bad boy running? A dude I know is running 13.9 (might be lower now) in the quarter with a Dodge RAM1500 on some serious drugs. He's running 50 pounds of boost and is also on the bottle I believe. I've been interested in turbo diesel trucks, just haven't had a chance to ever purchase one. Wow... So many things that interest me yet so little cash... DAMN YOU DIAMOND-STAR MOTORS!!!

I ran 8.727 at 79 mph that night. And it will run 13.5's in the 1/4. Its quick for 7200 pds. Pretty soon it'll be a whole lot faster, with a built trans, bigger turbo and injectors, and some N20.

So you mean to tell me that in no time flat you'll be able to beat my FWD TSI? Its not like its never happened before... Raced Dave (the kid with the 1500) and missed 4th, giving him enough time to walk past me lol. I was on 10 pounds of boost though, so all good.

Quad lane 1/8th mile, built close to what looks like some sort of elevated office buildings? Things are different out in 'Diego!

IDK whats your TSI run? lol With the built trans and turbo I'll be shooting for mid-12's, then with the spray I'll be looking for mid-11's.

Its in the fucking parking lot of Qualcomm stadium. Shit is ghetto as hell, I get more traction in a moonson at a redlight with drag slicks  Four wheel burnouts are pretty normal for me out to the 330 mark or so.

On a good day the Talon runs low 13s, it spins like a motherfucker and tends to go into limp mode when beat upon. Thus I always have an OBD2 scanner with me, at first I thought that only automatic DSMs went into limp mode... I was wrong. One time I had to do 40mph home from a meet that was a little over an hour away from my house, each gear maxes out at 4k rpm and when you finally shift to 5th it tops out at a whopping 40mph, I think I got passed by a weed wacker.

If my trans holds I can run low 13's, high 12's but I usually limp 5th gear, which locks the truck in 3rd till the key is cycled. With the built trans it should drop into 12's with no other work
